The following songs stand by their own merits and don’t necessarily represent the standard of the albums they are part of (*cough* M.I.A., BIGBANG, AZEALIA BANKS…)
It’s been a shit year for music quite frankly…well, in my humble opinion anyway, more talent has died than been discovered~ here’s hoping that 2017 delivers.
HOWEVER, some real gems have been brought to light; and the prominence of more experimental pop music has been extremely refreshing for me, personally, to indulge into. I tried to keep an equal balance of Pop and Alternative so there was something for everyone!
There have been equally mellifluous songs from both extremes of the two genres that I haven’t included, and many artists had repeat hits; bearing reason to why an artist is only allowed one song the list… ANYWAY; without further ado here are my personal top 50 tracks of the year.
